Scottish Council Election Campaign Begins

Aberdeen NF have already began our election campaign for the 2012 council election. We have earmarked 3 wards that
we are determined to contest and will examine other areas as the year progresses. We are looking to contest 5 or 6 wards overall
and so far the areas we can confirm we will be contesting are: - Northfield
- Sheddocksley/Kingswells
- Tillydrone/Seaton/Old
Aberdeen
So why have we chosen the above 3 areas as top priority? This is due to
a number of factors but mainly down to the social make-up of the areas and the fact that these areas contain the highest concentration
of NF members/supporters, their friends, families and workmates! We will be using every resource
available to get our message out in these areas and as of now we shall only be leafletting in areas that we intend to contest.
Production is also underway on new Scottish NF leaflets to press home our message.
What Issues Will the NF be
Campaigning on?
We will be campaigning on the
following platforms: Opposition to the Building
of a Mosque at the Beach: The area earmarked for the Mosque is an area of
natural beauty in the city and we don't want it deviled by the construction of a horrible building that has the potential
to be used by Islamic extremists. We would also seek to have the current Mosque closed down. Islam is an alien religion to
our shores and one which we think the vast majority of people would like to see removed. Some
people may try to tell you that it is only a small percentage of Muslims who have extremist views, yet even one Islamic extremist
terrorist attack is one too many. Deporting all Muslims from Britain will nullify this threat, that may seem harsh to some
people but I'm afraid it is simple logic. New York, London, Madrid, Glasgow, Stockholm -
Are you willing to wait and see where the next (inevitable) attack will be? Perhaps Aberdeen?
Opposition
to the Construction of an Islamic School in Aberdeen: An Aberdeen city
councillor confirmed to the NF that plans had indeed been floated about for the now derelict Causewayend School to be turned
into Aberdeen's first Islamic school. We find this abhorrent for many reasons, not just because of our opposition to Islamic
extremism (see above) but also due to the fact that many schools are being closed in Aberdeen, yet they will still find the
money to fund an Islamic one? We believe in looking after the needs of the indigenous schoolkids
first before catering to foreign nationals. We would expect other nations to put their populations needs first before immigrants
and wish our government would adopt the same policy in our country.
Halal
Free School Meals: Halal slaughter is a sick and barbaric practice where
animals are not stunned, have their throats slashed and left to bleed to death. It is extremely cruel and seeing videos of
the poor animals trying to breathe/cry-out while slowly dying (fully conscious) truly is gut-wrenching. Again, this is a foreign
practice that has been enforced on our society without our consultation. Unfortunately, due to pandering to the Islamic
extremists to get their pounds, most meat consumed in the UK nowadays is Halal slaughtered and most people are blissfully
unaware of this. The only reason animals are slaughtered this way is to satisfy the needs of a so-called religious minority
- so why is it being sneakily forced on the majority? As far as we are concerned, having school-kids eat Halal meat is the
equivalent of forcing religious practices on them. Parents have the right to withdraw their children from religious studies
so why can't they have the right to ensure the meals their kids eat at school aren't prepared in a religious way?
Again, simple logic.
Complete ban on Begging in
Aberdeen: Aberdeen likes to tout itself as the "Oil Capital of
Europe" yet take a walk through the city centre and the image you are presented with resembles something more like the
begging capital of Europe! Any visitor to the city would be shocked at the high number of beggars on our streets and the current
law only bans "aggressive begging" and is of no use at all. If elected the NF would, in the short term, encourage
the police to stop and identity check those who are currently blighting our city. Those who are found to be of a non-EU nationality
should be deported immediately as they are nothing but a strain on our already overstretched resources and leech off our society.
During a recent Evening Express investigation, 73% of the beggars
questioned were of non-British origin. Lets get them off our streets and back to their own country.
In the long term we would propose a complete ban on begging and this would not only get
rid of the junkies but those who cruelly sit there with dogs, those who stop and harass people on the pretence of "looking
for somewhere to get free food," those who stop and ask people if they would like to buy clearly dodgy goods and last
but not least those who create noise pollution with their complete lack of musical talent.
Local Housing for Local
People: This one really does not need no introduction. Most people will know someone who
has struggled to get a local authority house, given the standard "waiting list" excuse whilst immigrants straight
off the plane/boat/train/back of lorry are given a house almost instantly, Well that is of course after we have paid for the
translator on an extortionate hourly rate to help them. Utter madness. Most Scots who emigrate abroad ensure they have
lodgings and a job set up before they embark, to do so otherwise would be foolish as we know we would just be left to fend
for ourselves. In this country however it is the opposite, immigrants get here any way possible and know our government will
bend over backwards to help them. Lets reverse that trend and put Scots first, especially given the fact that this is the
21st Century and there are still many Scots living in inadequate accommodation through no fault of their own.
Save Union Terrace Gardens. Aberdeen city centre is a disgrace and this was highlighted even more so to Aberdeen NF members on our recent trip
to Dundee, where the feeling was unanimous that Dundee City Centre was in fact now better than Aberdeen - who would ever of
thought that would be the case??! (Apologies to our Dundee based members!!) Not only do you have to contend with Junkie
beggars, but there is now the added menace of Eastern European "gold smiths" trying to flog you gold, no doubt while
another is relieving your pockets of their possessions. Add to that the dirty streets, empty shops, corporate chain stores
and saturation of bookmakers/sandwich/coffee/hairdresser shops and it truly is a grim picture for our city. next up we have
Union terrace Gardens, what should be one of the highlights of our city but has sadly been left to rot and looks set to disappear
if Aberdeen City Council, backed by the Marxist rag the Evening Express, gets it way. So what
is our view of the gardens? First of all we believe they should not be concreted over at all and that the gardens just need
revamped, not destroyed. We need to get rid of the junkies/alkies who frequent the garden as they are off-putting. The police
are heavy handed with Saturday night revellers so why can't these daily pests be removed? The toilets also need modernised
and kept open. Access to the gardens also needs improved with the railway/dual carriageway being covered over to provide links
to Belmont Street and what is now essentially the hub of Aberdeen - Union Square (yes, we know some people don't approve
of this but I'm afraid it is now a fact). That'll improve the quality of the gardens but what we need is more events
to pull the people in. Here's a simple one, why do the council close off Union terrace to host the international market
when instead the gardens could host them? I'm sure the arches down there could also be utilised as stalls??!! In winter
time we could have a Christmas market as other European cities do. there are literally hundreds of uses the gardens could
be put to but our council leaders are short-sighted on these matters and driven by the needs of construction companies as
opposed to the local population.
